Cacen las
ideas perdidas
a través
del sonido de
las
paredes del nido,
que se nos
vacían los bolsillos
en las
horas más rápidas
y la
última puerta del
pasillo,
arrastren
mis pies por la
alfombra
manchada
a hombros
a perrito
a
horcajadas
con el
sueño espolvoreado en la
mañana.
¡Que los
hombres dancen
y las
mujeres beban!
¡Que los
niños corran por
las calles
y encuentren las flores
en la
alameda!
Dejen que
el polen de esas flores
les enseñe
el amor romántico de lo
imposible
y crezcan llorando sangre
en
batallas que recordarán
sus
nombres,
déjenles
creerse mártires
y héroes
y grandes hombres,
déjenles
soñar
que pocos
soñadores quedan
en la
tierra de los cobardes rutinarios
sin sol ni
sombra
ni tardes
de abril,
déjenles
creer y así
cuando
encuentren las páginas en blanco y roídas
del libro
no les
culparán a ustedes
y serán
libres
de
aprender.
--- --- --- --- ---
Hunt the
lost ideas
throw the
sound of
the nest
walls,
our pockets
get empty
at the
fastest hours
inside the
last door
of the
corridor,
drag my
feet
over the
stained carpet
shouldered
doggy
style
astride
with the
dusted dream early in the
morning.
Let men
dance
and women
drink!
Let the
kids run thru
the
streets and find the flowers
on the
avenue!
Let the
pollen of those flowers
show them
the romantic love for
the
impossible and let them grow up crying blood
in battles
that will remember their
names,
let them
believe they're martirs
and heroes
and big men,
let them
dream
not enough
dreamers are left
at the
land of the rutinary cowards
without
light neither shadows
neither
april evenings,
let them
believe and so
when they
find the worn blank pages of the book
they won't
blame you
and
they'll be free
to learn.
